It's not about the braids
Dream Dads exists to give fathers what mothers have long had: a real community of their people. We build welcoming, down-to-earth spaces where dads and father figures of every kind can connect, be honest about the joys and the hard parts of parenting, and find the support that makes the whole journey more fun.
Because dads need dads, just like moms need moms.
REAL OVER PERFECT
This isn't about highlight reels.
Parenting is wonderful and it's genuinely hard: exhausting, chaotic, sometimes infuriating... and both things are true at once. We make space for dads to say so out loud, without judgment, and to be met with a “yeah, me too.”
Fun is the strategy
Connection happens fastest when people are relaxed and laughing. We keep events lighthearted and low-pressure on purpose. If parenting can't always be easy, the community around it can at least be a good time.
Dads need dads
Real-life connection is the whole point. Online accounts and advice are fine, but nothing replaces having your people - the ones you can text mid-meltdown and who text you right back. We exist to help dads find each other.
Raising the next generation of dream dads
When dads bring their sons and daughters, kids see that men braid hair, talk about feelings, learn about bodies, and show up emotionally. We're not just supporting today's dads, we're modeling what fatherhood can look like for the kids who'll do it next.
Everyone belongs
Dream Dads is for anyone who identifies as a dad or father figure: biological dads, stepdads, adoptive and foster fathers, gay, queer, and gender-diverse fathers, granddads and uncles raising kids. Girl dads, boy dads, and dads who come on their own. All are welcome, no exceptions.
CELEBRATING GREAT DADS
We never frame dads as needing to be fixed or taught to “do better.” Today's fathers are already deeply involved. Dream Dads celebrates that and gives it the community it deserves. Any new skill picked up along the way is a bonus, never the point.
